General Overview

Sophia Systems Sandgate 2P Development Board is the first WiFi VoIP reference design based on the Intel® PXA270 processor available in the market. This reference board enables you to develop the software at the same time as the hardware is being developed, greatly reducing your overall system development time. With the Intel® PXA270 processor installed, the Sandgate 2P reference design includes all the peripherals necessary for the development of WiFi VoIP and Video Phone devices. The Sandgate 2P DVK's compact design makes for an excellent design base for your actual system.

The CD-ROM included with the reference design provides a board support package for Windows®CE 5.0 & Linux as well as some demo camera software for reference (camera software runs on WinCE5.0). A JTAG port can be used to download programs in FLASH memory quickly and easily. Also the schematic, part list, CPLD code (source and binary) are all included so development and customization is made simple.

The Sandgate 2P reference design (BDT021) includes the following:

An optional monitor and keyboard expansion kit (BDT020) is also available that connects directly to the Sandgate 2P via the expansion bus. The expansion kit is ideal for software application developers and includes:

            • Keyboard
            • USB1.1 (host) - perfect for connecting a mouse
            • Dimensions: 160x115mm

Solution Sets

The power of the Sandgate 2P reference design is unleashed in combination with the complete debugging solutions available by Sophia Systems. From compilers and debuggers to JTAGs and Full In-Circuit Emulators (ICE). The solution sets provide all the tools needed to get your project developed, debugged and products out the door faster. For debugging code, there is a JTAG port and the combination of Sandgate 2G board and Sophia's EJ-Debug JTAG emulator for PXA270 provides on-chip debugging capability.
