Sophia
Systems announces their high level language debugger, Watchpoint
supports Symbian OS v8.1 on ARM9 and ARM11 development environment
Kanagawa,
JAPAN, Nov 17, 2004 - Sophia Systems Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ: Sophia), is
pleased to announce the release of "Watchopint for Symbian OS
Kernel Debugger" supporting Symbian OS v8.1.
Sophia
Systems' "Watchpoint for Symbian OS Kernel Debugger"
provides an excellent development environment for ARM 9 and ARM11
users developing Symbian OS based products. The combination of Sophia
Systems' High Level Language Debugger, "Watchpoint" and
"Watchpoint for Symbian OS Kernel Debugger" allows users
to load the Symbian kernel and the static device driver to Symbian
OS v8.1 via Sophia's emulators for execution/debugging, and debug
application programs written to the Flash ROM.
Two
tpes of compilers are supported, GNU/GCC compiler and Realview compiler(by
the ARM). The use of ETM provides trace of the kernel, the application
program written to the Flash ROM, and the static device driver.
In addition, the new OS Analyzer(in development) greatly improves
the debugging efficiency by graphically displaying the transition
status of Symbian OS v8.1 according to the time axis.
Sophia
Systems provides a wide range of microprocessor development systems,
from Full ICE to JTAG and ROM emulators, in order to support all development
phases of embedded systems. The powerful C/C++ high level language
debugger, Watchpoint, is included with all Sophia's emulators.
As
a Symbian Platinum Partner, Sophia Systems will continue to develop
OS analyzers and emulators aimed at improving the debugging efficiency
of Symbian OS based mobile products.
Mr.
Tasuku Kashihira, CEO of Sophia Systems, says, "Completely supporting
Symbian OS has advanced our leadership in the field of development
tools for the mobile product. We are happy to support Symbian in the
development of mobile products with various capabilities. The companies
which are designing cellular phones with Symbian OS will be able to
decrease the transition time needed from development to the market
by this new product."
