Sophia Systems Introduces our Development Tool Chain Supporting the Intel® PXA 27x Processor Family

Kanagawa, JAPAN, April 12th, 2004 - Sophia Systems Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ: Sophia), is pleased to announce our total Development Tool Chain supporting Intel PXA 27x processor family, codename Bulverde, for handheld devices. The development tool chain includes our Full-featured ICE "UniSTAC™II"; two different JTAG ICE solutions, "UniSTAC™II/J" and "EJ-Debug"; and our Development Board, "Sandgate II".

At the same time as the Intel PXA 270 processor enters the market, our total development tool chain solutions are ready to support embedded tool developers. The UniSTAC™II Full ICE for Intel PXA 27x processor family is the perfect solution for total control over the entire development project - from board design and the integration of middleware, drivers and hardware; to the final debugging and testing of the software application. Our full ICE solution provides powerful low-level hardware testing and easy-to-use software debugging capability.

UniSTAC™II for Intel PXA 27x processor family provides up to 64MB of emulation memory, Flash ROM direct download capability, 64K frames of real-time full bus trace storage (including SDRAM), and Coverage / Performance / Profile analysis. Five trigger points are available with sophisticated triggering options and trigger data filtering. The ICE can be connected to the user's target board without removing the target processor if special ICE connectors are designed into the board layout. The UniSTAC™II host interface can be operated via USB or LAN.

The combination of using ICE and our development board, "Sandgate II" allows you to download or execute your program before the hardware design has been completed. The development kits for various RTOS such as WinCE.NET™, Linux and Symbian will be supported via. our cooperation with different OS manufacturers.

Watchpoint® for Intel PXA 270, Sophia Systems' powerful high-level language debugger and user interface, supports C/C++ and assembly level program development for applications, as well as boot loader and board-level initialization code development. Multiple object modules can be downloaded concurrently for debugging different applications running on top of an RTOS. A Project Tree window provides easy access to all global symbols, source files, and functions.
